We seek a skilled and enthusiastic Music Instructor to join our team for the upcoming season.
Responsibilities:
Plan and teach music classes to campers, including instruction on basic music theory, vocal and instrumental techniques, and music composition.
Develop an engaging and age-appropriate curriculum that fosters campers' creativity and self-expression.
Work closely with other camp staff to integrate music instruction into overall camp programming.
Provide guidance and support to campers as they work on their music projects, and help them overcome technical and creative challenges.
Encourage and facilitate camper participation in activities and programs, and help them develop their skills and interests.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages campers to learn, grow and have fun.
Maintain and organize music equipment and supplies.
Provide end-of-camp reports for campers in these activities.
Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
Complete a background check.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in music or a related field or equivalent professional experience
Previous experience teaching music, preferably in a camp, school, or community setting
Experience working with children, and a passion for helping them develop their creativity and self-expression
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Knowledge of and experience with a variety of musical instruments and styles
