Kildonan's Camp Dunnabeck >> Job Description
We seek a dedicated and experienced Math Tutor to provide one-on-one math instruction to students with dyslexia. The Math Tutor will potentially work with campers ages 8-16 and will be responsible for developing individualized lesson plans to meet each camper's unique needs while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one math instruction to students with dyslexia.
Develop individualized lesson plans to meet the specific needs of each camper.
Use multisensory approaches to math instruction to enhance understanding and retention.
Collaborate with other camp staff members to ensure the campers' success.
Keep accurate records of each camper's progress and communicate with parents and guardians as needed.
Provide end-of-camp reports for campers in these activities.
Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
Complete a background check.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field
Experience working with students with dyslexia is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to attend an online, 4-day training in Multisensory Math Instruction that we will arrange
